During the Official Throwback Weekend of NASCAR® at Darlington Raceway, Ty Dillon and the No. 42 Petty GMS Racing team will be paying tribute to the late, great Lee Petty and one of his greatest wins.
Dillon’s No. 42 Chevrolet will sport a classic red and white paint scheme that turns back the clock to Petty’s win in the inaugural DAYTONA 500®. The race, held in February of 1959, came down to a photo finish between Johnny Beauchamp and NASCAR Hall of FameTM driver Lee Petty. While the initial call was to award Beauchamp the win, three days later NASCAR®
founder Bill France Sr. overturned the decision in favor of Petty.
Lionel Racing, the Official Die-cast of NASCAR®, is excited to offer Dillon’s No. 42 Petty GMS Throwback Chevrolet Camaro die-cast for order. Produced on Lionel Racing’s all new Next Gen tool, each 1:24-scale replica is offered in two different trim levels – an Action Racing Collectables (ARC) hood-open model and a fully die-cast ELITE version that is built with an opening hood and trunk and a removable underwing that reveals authentic undercarriage detail. Each die cast also features rolling Goodyear tires, working suspension, window net, and more. An all-new 1:64-scale model is also on offer.

My Rv review for the number 43 die cast car is a description of the beautiful details of the iconic paint screen that The King “Richard Petty” made famous by wooping his competition on a weekly basis
